Wedding day #3

Pick a theme, that's what totally helped me start the creative juices flowing for our wedding day! So, I picked, BUTTONS! I love buttons! It made for real intrigue once the word got out too and people were just dying to know what I was going to use them for (I hope it didn't disappoint!) I had buttons on the tables, I made button boutonniere's for the guys, a button stamp on our invitations, on the cake, all the girls shoes, in my bouquet, you get the picture :) So, my advice? Pick a theme :)

The List

10 things I'm gonna miss about having my parents (and brothers) in the same state.

1. Hugs...I love hugs and I'm gonna miss having those! (Mk, be ready, you have a big job to fill!)
2. Free food :) As newlyweds sometimes its so nice to go to the parents and have a free meal
3. A place to "escape" for a bit when i need a break from my house
4. My childhood home...
5. Laughter ringing through the house when everyone comes "home"
6. Christmas twril
7. A place to wash my car
8. A reason to go to my home town
9. My Mum
10. My Dad (and brothers when they go...)

Be reminded how blessed you are if your family still lives close by! Please pray for my parents and brothers as they make a HUGE transition from California to N. Carolina!

Grand Day

So, I failed to take pictures of it BUT this weeks addition of "grand day" is a funny one. Since we've been married (almost 4 months, eek!) we've had a full size bed in our living room! Thankfully it was up against the wall BUT still, we had a BED in our living room! So on Saturday we got to "kill two birds with one stone" and deliver the bed to a friend AND got to spend time with my little sister.

It is a huge relief to have the bed gone and now I'm busy trying to put our living room back together, total disaster zone right now! Well, there you have it, it's the little things that can make for a "grand day"!

Craft/Project Day

Ok, so I might have been a bit ambitious about getting my bookcase painted in a week...A huge plus? My father in law has an electric sander so now my job should be a million times easier! (and a great way to get the hubby involved in this project :)

So this I will complete by next week...

I'm going to paint it a lovely avocado green! Best part? IT WAS FREE!

Wedding Day #2 (as in the second time I've written, not my #2 wedding!)

So next on the agenda was to find a location! Man, are things SUPER expensive in Orange county! I was searching and searching but nothing seemed to meet my expectations or Michael's...we even found it hard to find a church we liked so, by God's grace, we happened upon a place called: The wedding pantry. They were so completely helpful and totally guided me to THE.PERFECT.PLACE! We were married at: Oak canyon nature center and our reception was held at: Irvine park outdoor education center. Pretty much fulfilled my dreams (especially our ceremony site!) These are pics of me seeing the place for the first time

and our reception site

The finished looks will come at a later post :) I love where I got married BUT I love WHO I married even more!

Recipe Day

Last night I made an interesting but very yummy recipe! Upside-down Pizza Casserole (from my 'better homes and gardens" bridal edition cookbook :) )

It was so easy and    Mk liked it too! Try it,
