Wedding day #3

Pick a theme, that's what totally helped me start the creative juices flowing for our wedding day! So, I picked, BUTTONS! I love buttons! It made for real intrigue once the word got out too and people were just dying to know what I was going to use them for (I hope it didn't disappoint!) I had buttons on the tables, I made button boutonniere's for the guys, a button stamp on our invitations, on the cake, all the girls shoes, in my bouquet, you get the picture :) So, my advice? Pick a theme :)

Grand Day

So, I failed to take pictures of it BUT this weeks addition of "grand day" is a funny one. Since we've been married (almost 4 months, eek!) we've had a full size bed in our living room! Thankfully it was up against the wall BUT still, we had a BED in our living room! So on Saturday we got to "kill two birds with one stone" and deliver the bed to a friend AND got to spend time with my little sister.

It is a huge relief to have the bed gone and now I'm busy trying to put our living room back together, total disaster zone right now! Well, there you have it, it's the little things that can make for a "grand day"!

Craft/Project Day

Ok, so I might have been a bit ambitious about getting my bookcase painted in a week...A huge plus? My father in law has an electric sander so now my job should be a million times easier! (and a great way to get the hubby involved in this project :)

So this I will complete by next week...

I'm going to paint it a lovely avocado green! Best part? IT WAS FREE!

Wedding Day #2 (as in the second time I've written, not my #2 wedding!)

So next on the agenda was to find a location! Man, are things SUPER expensive in Orange county! I was searching and searching but nothing seemed to meet my expectations or Michael's...we even found it hard to find a church we liked so, by God's grace, we happened upon a place called: The wedding pantry. They were so completely helpful and totally guided me to THE.PERFECT.PLACE! We were married at: Oak canyon nature center and our reception was held at: Irvine park outdoor education center. Pretty much fulfilled my dreams (especially our ceremony site!) These are pics of me seeing the place for the first time

and our reception site

The finished looks will come at a later post :) I love where I got married BUT I love WHO I married even more!

Recipe Day

Last night I made an interesting but very yummy recipe! Upside-down Pizza Casserole (from my 'better homes and gardens" bridal edition cookbook :) )

It was so easy and    Mk liked it too! Try it,

The List

Do you set yourself goals? Sometimes I hide from this so failure doesn't happen :) But, I'm still trying!

Lets start simple:

1. Strive to make this blog better
2. Stick with my one "new recipe a week" goal
3. Really, truly, get my etsy shop up and running
4. Continue to strive for a better relationship with my Lord
5. Be the wife that Mk needs me to be
6. Spend lots of time with my family

Lets stop there, shall we?! (these are in not in any particular order!)

Lots of changes right now...

Monday= WEDDING DAY!

So we all know that Monday's tend to not be everyone's fav so I'm gonna try and enjoy mine by recapping my wedding! Partly so I can remember the fun of it and partly to share with you! I'm one of those Brides that miss planning my wedding...of course there was stress and some not so fun parts but for the most part I LOVED IT! I LOVE being a wife to "my Michael" but do miss it.... Where to start?! Well, i guess with the dress! This totally helped me figure out the 'feel' of our wedding day...I went to 3 places, which I would recommend cause when else do you get to go in a bridal salon and try on dresses? Here's some possible choices...

There was a close second (but I can't find the picture right now...)
But ultimately I chose...

I got my dress at Jinny's bridal and they were nothing but helpful! Even allowed me to come a few times to try it on without pressuring me to buy it! my fav part? THE POCKETS! I love my dress so much!

WEEKEND! And baking!

Why is it that we all live for the weekend? I'm convinced that we would all do better in life if we always got a 3 day weekend!
So today I'm going to make some peppermint pies for a party I'm going to tomorrow! I've been wanting to try this recipe for a while so I'm excited to see how it goes!

Tomorrow will be one of the first saturdays that my hubby and I will spend most of apart....so he's taking me to Disneyland tonight and breakfast in the morning to ease us into it! Happy weekend!

A grand day!

Our labor day consisted of...an adventure! (and me blowing my nose every other minute...) I'm pretty into coupons...not quite at the obsessed level but i'm sure a sucker for them! So we headed off with our "buy one get one" and had a much needed "grand day" together!

We both enjoy history so our stop was; The San Juan Capistrano mission. The weather was a lot cooler down by the beach and made for a relaxing day.

Our last stop was a "b.o.g.o" for some yummy Gelato! Hooray for "grand days"

My grandma...

Well, it's been a week now and I'm still missing my gram like crazy...things are starting to get back to normal though (if there is a normal?!) but before I start up on all business and fun, I thought I'd share with you what I shared at my grams memorial. Listen to this song and it will make more sense.

Grandma….

The past 7 years have been those blessings in disguise… Gram loved life, she loved people, she loved family and most of all she loved Jesus. I’m sure there were so many times through these last years that gram felt discouraged when she couldn’t remember how to put on her shoes, but she traveled many amazing places in those shoes or perhaps when she could no longer express her true feelings, yet we all know, gram knew how to give an opinion. Or the times when she would sit and smile across at you, maybe she was remember the time she taught you scripture or how to laugh at your self for silly things or how to make a paper sword. Maybe there were times at night that she lay in bed thinking about the visits from grandkids, the marriage she had with grandpa for 50 years or the relationships she had with so many people.  Perhaps those times she felt that our Lord wasn’t near, the many scriptures she knew by heart would come to mind.

Gram never lost her ability to pray; whether it was for a meal (her favorite thing) or right before she went to sleep. Gram always had a song on her lips and a verse ready to remind you of God’s goodness (or possibly make you feel a bit guilty for what you just did…)

Maybe Gram asked for healing but I know that my family definitely felt blessed to have her near and even though there was trials and frustrations, we never lost sight of the blessing of having her as our mother, grandmother, and friend.

There are too many memories to try and share but I’m so thankful that I have too many…I’m so thankful to our Lord that He chose to have rosemary be my gram.

I will never forget on my wedding day, the joy on grams face…the kiss on the hand, the dance, the presence of the one that I’ve looked up to my whole life. Thank you Jesus for allowing her to be there!

Grandma, thank you for instilling the things of Jesus in me, thank you for climbing trees with me, pointing out the clouds, sharing your zest for life and being the best grandma in the whole world! I miss you so much but I know you are freed from tears, pain, disappointments, trials and aching’s of this life….
